Petrol Station ERP · Reports and controls
Investigate a petrol wet-stock variance
A variance is a signal to review evidence. It should not be removed with an unexplained adjustment.
Updated
Recheck the comparison period
Confirm that opening and closing dips, meter readings, deliveries and sales use the same station, product and shift boundaries.
Review physical and system records
Compare source sheets or authorized measurements with the records entered in the system. Look for transposed digits, wrong nozzles or delayed entries.
Review deliveries and operational exceptions
Check delivery timing, tank allocation, test draws, transfers and any approved maintenance or calibration activity.
Document and approve the outcome
If a correction is required, use the authorized workflow, preserve the prior record and state the reason and approver.
Before you finish
- The variance was reproduced from source data.
- Each likely cause was checked against evidence.
- Corrections did not erase the original history.
- Follow-up ownership is clear.
