Supermarket POS · Purchasing and stock

Receive a supermarket purchase into stock

Use the supported purchasing workflow for your deployment. Do not treat a supplier invoice as proof that the physical quantity arrived.

Updated

  1. Confirm the supplier and purchase order

Open the correct supplier and approved purchase order. Check expected products, units, quantities and prices.

  2. Inspect the physical delivery

Count the received products, note damaged or missing items and verify package sizes and barcodes before posting.

  3. Create the goods received record

Record only the accepted quantity into the correct warehouse. Review the stock movement generated by the receipt.

  4. Record the supplier invoice

Match the invoice to the order and receipt. Keep quantity or price differences visible for authorized review.

  5. Complete payment through the approved process

Record the supplier payment against the correct liability and retain the purchasing history.

Before you finish

  • Physical and recorded quantities agree.
  • Stock was posted to the correct warehouse.
  • Invoice differences were reviewed.
  • Returns or rejected goods are traceable.
